J.&J. Kohn - Gustav Siegel - Seating group - Nr. 717 -

A Very Rare Seating Group, exuding timeless charm and allure despite its vintage of over 90 years; this Art Nouveau masterpiece graced the pages of Kohn's Catalogue as early as 1904. This Liberty Seating Group made its debut two years prior, showcased in various magazines as part of a "dining room ensemble" at the "Winther Exhibition" of the Imperial and Royal Austrian Museum of Art and Industry in Vienna. Erroneously attributed to artist Koloman Moser for years, it shared the limelight with his splendid decorative stained glass windows in exhibition photographs. Crafted in the quintessential secessionist style, its curved beech wood structure is reminiscent of Jacob & Josef Kohn's signature aesthetic, as well as the historic Thonet brand. What sets this Art Nouveau seating group apart are the brass quadrangular-sectioned ends adorning its legs. In great condition with original patina and brass legs. However a refinish and reupholster is also possible in our own workshop. Please contact us for further information. 1x sofa height 90 cm, width 128 cm, depth 58 cm, seat height 45 cm 2x armchair height 90 cm, width 58 cm, depth 58 cm, seat height 45 cm 2x chair height 90 cm, width 45 cm, depth 43 cm, seat height 45 cm
