Thin polished part slice of the Mesosiderite meteorite Tanezrouft 091
with great weight-surface-ratio
Mesosiderite are brecciated meteorite containing subequal silicate and metallic components;
the silicates are dominantly igneous rock fragments.
Two stomes with a totalweight of 4988g were found 2020 at 24°15.85’N, 0°09.64’W near Adrar, Algeria.
The cut face shows the interior is composed of a breccia containing: metal grains, cm-sized rounded metal nodules and silicate clasts (up to 4 cm) and mineral grains (up to 0.5 cm).
