A very old, large and heavy traditional Togatta Kokeshi, made by signed by the Japanese kokeshi artist Sato Sanzo.
This Kokeshi is estimated to be at least 70 years old, most likely much older.
It has a slightly larger head than the usual size and the red cheeks give it a very warm appearance.
Considering the fact that it is very old, the colors are still bright, although the green has faded a bit.
There are only some small signs of ageing, but nothing disturbing.
This kokeshi comes from a retired private Japanese collector who lives near Nagoya.
