James Sowerby - A set of seven mounted and framed original handcoured plates from "English Botany"

A set of 7 mounted and framed original plates from "English Botany" by James Sowerby, London, Third Edition, 1849.
Each plate was handcoloured at the time and shows different species of plants. Technique: engraving. Plate size: cm. 21,5 X 13 (8,5 X 5 inch). Back is blank.
In some cases names of plants have been handwritten. A medical plant is included.
Black mount and vintage wodden frames with golden stripe as per pictures.

Plate colours are still bright, however some foxing due to the age may appear here and there.
