Size: 220× 60 cm Material: silk 帰還 Ki kan Soldiers who had gone to war and returned safely to their hometowns. This is a rare flag. Many long cheering flags were made to send off soldiers who were scheduled to go to war in a grand manner. However, few returned safely, and so there were few flags to celebrate them. In other words, the ones that exist in Japan today are also necessarily few. The Japanese symbols "Hinomaru 日の丸" and "the Rising Sun 旭日旗" are designed in large letters, and there is also a star symbolizing the Army.Japanese Kanji are depicted in large, powerful letters. It is a great item that gives courage,power and feeling of relief to soldiers. This is very old, but very well preserved. The colors are vivid and the black of the brushstrokes are clearly present. The sturdy bars of the flag are decorated with ornaments, suggesting a festive festival. It is an exciting item. Other rare items are also available in my current auction. Please check them out.
