A. Petermann - Mitteilungen aus Justus Perthes' Geographischer Anstalt - 1887-1917

Two annual issues of Petermann's notices from the Justus Perthes Geographical Institute.

Each is bound in dark half buckram with brown marbled boards. These have gilt titles to spines and a library locator pasted onto each spine. In overall good clean condition, with a little bumdping to the corners. Each of the copies came from a Nijmegen high school library, and have their stamps to the end papers and a few other pages.

The binding is in good, clean condition. There are a couple of pages with minor staining / foxing. Otherwise the book is in good, slightly darkened condition.

The format is quite different to the older editions. Now there are many short articles on aspects of German geography, but also articles on the rest of europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the Amerika's, etc.
392 pages.

4 pages of photographs of eminent geographers who died during the first world war,
3 pages of photographs of geographical features
20 large folding maps.

All in good clean if slightly darkened condtion. A couple of the photographs are detached but present.

Extensive special map appendices cannot otherwise be found. In addition, the often very comprehensive and commentary literature reports offer the collector a unique bibliographical overview of the works published during this period on the topics mentioned
