Two rare and curious 19th century editions of this iconic novel by Charlotte Brontë / Currer Bell. The copy published by Ward, Lock and Co is assumed to be a third edition. The first cover page is loose and the title page shows some foxing. On the second cover page there are inscriptions and the name and address of the first owner with an endearing handwritten poem. The overall condition of the book is acceptable to good. The copy of The Star Library is very rare. It must have been published by Edward Canby in Dayton Ohio, and is probably the second American edition of Jane Eyre. Semi-loose front cover page, name of the first owner. Overall good condition for it's age.
