Baltic natural Butterscotch Egg Yolk Amber necklace, early 20th century, German
olive shaped beads, ascending beads necklace from small to largest approx. 13.8x10.8mm in the center. Handmade (Königsberg) Germany. In original condition, re-knotted.
Lock probably 14kt gold, not marked.
Size: approx. 43cm - Total weight: 11.73 g

Handmade necklace from Germany (Königsberg, now Kaliningrad) with 100% Baltic Amber (Amber) varies in size ASC (ascending).
This chain has been carefully tested:
- Visual test: small imperfections clearly visible under x20 magnification
- Acetone test: No influence on amber
- Warm-up test: strong odor is present indicating Baltic origin.
- UV light test: light reflection clearly visible
- Salt water test: the necklace floats (115g salt/1l water), only the clasp goes under)

For the last test, photos are available, no scratch test or hot needle test was done to ensure the condition is not damaged.

Place of origin of amber: Sambia, peninsula in the eastern Baltic Sea.
Production location of the chain: Königsberg, East Prussia.
Age of the amber: 40-50 million years.
Gemstone: oval shaped Baltic amber.
