This auction features a set of four incense burners from the Showa period, including pieces from the renowned Takaoka Copperware artisans.
The first incense burner is crafted by Zenyū (善祐) and is marked with the artisan's stamp on the base. Takaoka Copperware, originating from Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture, is known for its high quality and intricate designs. Zenyū is one of the respected craftsmen within this tradition.
The second incense burner is made by Yūgen (祐現), also featuring a stamp on the base. Yūgen, like Zenyū, is a skilled artisan known for producing exquisite and durable items within the Takaoka Copperware tradition.
The set includes two additional unmarked incense burners. While their exact origins are unknown, they share the craftsmanship and style typical of Takaoka Copperware.
These incense burners show signs of wear, usage, and ash residue consistent with their age. Please refer to the photos for detailed condition.
