Born on January 1, 1938, in Nagano Prefecture, Kubota studied under Fujino Tenko and held significant positions such as a Nitten Exhibitions Councilor, a managing committee member of Nihon Kibori (Japanese Woodcarving) Association, and Chairman of the Chiba Prefectural Art Association. This Buddha statue captures the essence of Amida Nyorai, featuring the traditional meditative pose, hand gestures (mudra), and a prominent ushnisha atop the head, symbolizing wisdom. The detailed mandorla with its flame-like protrusions signifies spiritual radiance and enlightenment. The sculptor's signature, "Yoshimichi," is engraved on the back, affirming its authenticity. The statue is adorned with a subtle pearl at the forehead and sparkling glass elements at the crown, adding to its divinity. Age-related wear, minor marks, and stains are present, with a couple of restorations noted at the back of the halo and right hand. Please refer to the photos for a detailed view of its condition.
