Réputée pour être un cabriolet de tourisme fiable et solidement construit, la série R107 SL de Mercedes est un véhicule de collection très recherché dont les valeurs restent constantes et fortes. Cet exemplaire de 1983 offre toutes les vertus bien connues du modèle : des lignes élégantes et sobres, un habitacle confortable, un coffre spacieux et un style de conduite facile. Une R107 pourrait presque être utilisée comme voiture de tous les jours.

La 280 SL est équipée d'un moteur six cylindres de Mercedes, qui a fait ses preuves et qui est très fiable. Ses performances sont largement suffisantes pour parcourir l'Europe, et surtout il est bien moins cher à la pompe que les V8.

D'origine européenne (ce n'est pas une version américaine avec moteur dégonflé), mon modèle a fait l'objet d'une restauration minutieuse en 2021 et 2022. Peinture, sellerie, capote ont été refaites à neuf. Les 6 planchers et traverses ont été changés  et sont neufs. Les dessous sont donc à nouveau très sains. Le moteur et le système de freinage ont également été révisés, et les rotules de direction ainsi que les pneus ont été changés. Cela a permis d'obtenir zéro défaut au dernier contrôle technique qui reste valable jusqu'en décembre 2027. La restauration réalisée professionnellement représente un investissement supérieur à 20000 euros.

La voiture démarre, roule et freine très bien. Les vitesses passent très bien également. Il est donc très plaisant de cruiser le coude à la portière. L'autoradio est présent mais il manque le code de sécurité.  Et la climatisation, présente également, est à recharger, mais est-ce vraiment utile sur un cabriolet? Carnet d'entretien depuis 2007.

En résumé, il s'agit donc d'un bel exemple d'un véhicule de collection classique qui n'a pas plus ses rides suite aux nombreux travaux de restauration réalisés. Son futur propriétaire profitera de toutes les qualités de la SL : une élégance classique accompagnée d'un comportement routier raffiné, tout en bénéficiant de l'économie de carburant et des coûts d'entretien réduits du moteur six cylindres. 

Une livraison peut être organisée avec les sociétés de transport internationales présentes dans le sud de la France.
