Venezia Note: from “Teatro della Guerra Marittima fra Gran Bretagna e Francia” Vincenzo Formaleoni was born in Fiorenzuola d'Arda (Piacenza) on 18 November. 1752, son of Biagio, actuary of Justice in Castelnuovo Fogliani, and Cristina Balduzzi. There is little information about his education and youth. Having taken minor orders and the title of abbot, he abandoned his homeland at a very young age. He immediately came into contact with the Venetian publishing world. In 1775 he was a proofreader in the large printing house of Antonio Zatta, with whom he always remained on good terms. At the same time he practiced cartography and dedicated himself to geographical studies.

Vincenzo Formaleoni was born in Fiorenzuola d'Arda (Piacenza) on 18 November. 1752, son of Biagio, actuary of Justice in Castelnuovo Fogliani, and Cristina Balduzzi.
