Koksal Atay is a fashion designer based in Istanbul, originally from Erzurum , East Anatolia Region of Turkiye .Atay prefers to use oversize cuts in his designs allowing for a sculpture-like effect with his monochrome pallette, the details are hidden in an artistic manner.
He says:
``My clothes are for everyone who likes comfort and convenience ; follows natural lines and prefers creative expansions. I see myself in a unisex style as the elements that impose gender on designs are the people who wear them, I don't use feminine or masculine elements in clothes as determining factors. I am against fast fashion, my clothes are long-lasting, timeless and can be worn for years.I prefer to use living materials such as cotton,wool, silk and hand made embroidery cultural garments such as Suzani, Ehram. My designs, which contain references to history and culture, remind me of Mevlevi clothing with their sense of movement and transformability.``

What is Ehram ?
Ehram is the name of women's outerwear made of finely spun sheep's wool, which is obtained by weaving with a flat surface shuttle through very laborious stages. Although there is no definite information about when the ehram first began to be touched and used in written sources, it is stated that it has been used since the 1850s in its current form.

Erzurum and Bayburt, important weaving centers of Turkish culture. The main ingredient is pure wool robe with fine bent in a flat weave sheep’s wool. Combination of the two wing consists of fabric robe. When a sash is approximately 90cm in width, length 2.50/2.70cm around.
