Twee bijzonder mooie Thonet stoelen nr. 14. De stoelen zijn nog in bijzonder goede staat. Ze dateren van 1914 - 1918. De reden waarom dit zo precies te duiden is, is omdat ze zijn gefabriceerd in Polen. Toen de Eerste Wereldoorlog in 1914 uitbrak, waren er op een gegeven moment weinig grondstoffen in Oostenrijk, en daarbij werd veel productiecapaciteit ingezet voor de oorlog. De Thonet-fabrieken konden slechts twee dagen per week werken en omdat het Oostenrijks-Hongaarse rijk, op Frankenberg na, was ingestort, vestigden ze zich nu in Polen en Tsjechoslowakije. Onder de zitting van deze twee stoelen is een stemkpel geplaatst 'Made in Poland'. Daaruit kan dus geconcludeerd worden dat de stoelen zijn geproduceerd ten tijde van WO I.

Michael Thonet wordt gezien als de eerste en belangrijkte meubel-vormgever. Hij was ook de eerste die het buigen van hout met stoom dusdanig perfectioneerde dat het in de industriéle meubelfabricage kon worden toegepast. Ook bij deze stoelen zijn de met stoom gebogen elementen duidelijk te zien. Dit gaf de Thonet-stoel stabiliteit. Het is opmerkelijk ook hoe stabiel deze stoelen nog steeds zijn, ondanks een leeftijd van ruim 100 jaar!

Deze twee stoelen zijn 85cm hoog, 41cm breed en 41cm diep. De diameter van de zitting is 37cm en het gewicht per stoel is ongeveer 2,5kg., Beide stoelen zijn nog voorzien van een deel van het originele label van Thonet onder de zitting, Ze zijn nog 100% origineel. Nergens zijn reparaties zichtbaar, en ook alle originele bevestigingsmaterialen zijn nog aanwezig. Daarbij zijn de stoelen nog helemaal stabiel. Dus niet alleen zijn deze antieke stoelen een erg mooi meubelstuk in een inrichting, ook zijn ze nog volledig als stoel in te zetten. En natuurlijk zijn het praatstukken, met de geschiedenis die ze met zich meebrengen.

De stoelen worden vakkundig ingepakt en verzekerd verzonden.
