【Product details】
Step into a piece of Japan's Edo period with this venerable Amida Triad, housed in an exquisitely crafted Buddhist altar cabinet. The cabinet's exterior showcases traditional black lacquer, while its interior is adorned with radiant gold leaf, blending a sense of solemnity with splendor.
Central to this piece is the Amida Triad, a revered configuration in Buddhist iconography. At its heart stands Amitabha Buddha, flanked by the Bodhisattvas Avalokiteshvara on the left and Mahasthamaprapta on the right. This trio symbolizes the pivotal Buddhist virtues of compassion, wisdom, and enlightenment guidance.
Amitabha Buddha, as the lord of the Western Paradise, is believed to shepherd all beings to the Pure Land. Kannon, the embodiment of compassion, is renowned for relieving suffering, while Seishi, symbolizing wisdom, leads beings towards enlightenment.
The figures are securely affixed within the cabinet, with Amitabha Buddha's eyes featuring the unique crystal inlay, adding a lifelike and reverent touch.
Time has etched its story onto this artifact, evident in its wear, scratches, and patina. The lacquer bears chips and cracks, and the gold leaf has thinned in places, revealing the passage of time. Dust has gathered over the years, adding to its historic charm. Please refer to the detailed photos provided.
