Elektriseermachine van Wimshurst. Bedoeld voor demonstraties en experimenten rond statische elektriciteit. Door het draaien van de schijven kunnen vonken worden opgewekt. Gemerkt ‘Voltana’.

In de 19e eeuw werd een nieuw model elektriseermachine ontwikkeld die van influentie tussen twee tegengesteld draaiende schijven gebruik maakt: de machine van James Wimshurst.

Deze machine is dus in staat om elektriciteit op te wekken door aan de hendel te draaien. Alle onderdelen lijken onbeschadigd. Behalve het aandrijf gedeelte de rubbers slippen.
