Early Edo period, ca. 1650 A.D. Kiritsuke Kozane 2-mai Dou gusoku-signature The Armor has two boxes, very rare. See all photos. A koboshi kabuto (helmet with small standing rivets) A Menpo an iron mask with an iron plate throat guard yodare-kake. Kiritsuke hon kozane dō (false/simulated hon kozane (small individual scales)) in the form of kiritsuke hon iyozane or kiritsuke hon kozane mimic the construction of lamellar armour but instead of being made from true individual scales kiritsuke kozane are actually constructed with long lames (strips or rows) of armour lashed together and are a form of laminar armour. Sode, iron plate shoulder protectors. Kote, arm protection with lacquered iron plates connected with chain armor kusari. Haidate, thigh protection with small lacquered iron plates connected by chain armor kusari sewn to cloth. Suneate, shin protection with iron splints shino connected by chain armor kusari sewn to a cloth backing, with small hexagon armor plates kikko protecting the knees.
