Description: Middle Geometric oinochoe / jug with trefoil mouth and high arching handle. Decoration consists out of horizontal bands from foot to handle to rim, interrupted by vertical triple zigzag lines. Dimensions: 11 x 8 cm Condition: Small hole underneath the jug (as pictured). Provenance: - Dutch private collection 2023. - German private collection from 2019. - From the collection of prof. dr. Peter Robert Franke (2018). Co-author of the volume "The Greek Coin" by Franke, R. P./Hirmer, M. 1972 and many other specialist publications on ancient numismatics and ancient history. He was a member of the Numismatic Commission of the states in the Federal Republic of Germany and an honorary member of the Bavarian Numismatic Society. He was also senior scientific advisor at the Athens department of the German Archaeological Institute. - Purchased at an auction led by dr. Claus W. Hild in Karlsruhe between 1980 and 1999. Documents included: - Provenance statement. - Copy of the German export license. Shipping: - Tracked shipping with PostNL. - Extra safe packaging. If necessary double boxed. - Shipping within 3 workdays after auction and payment. - Combined shipping if you buy more than 1 item in the same auction. - For buyers outside the European Union (EU) a Dutch export license is required.
