Land Rover Defenders heb je in vele gedaantes, variërend van de volledig omgebouwd tot terreinmonsters of de mooi origineel gebleven exemplaren en alles daar tussen. Maar, dan heb je ook nog deze: een Defender 110” die daadwerkelijk als nieuw is! Hoezeer ik gepersonaliseerde Defenders ook waardeer, vind ik een volledig origineel gebleven -laat staan gerestaureerde- Defender het allermooiste.

Het is ook een zeer puur samengestelde auto om te zien; het typerende donkergroene "Berlice-green" met het contrasterende witte dak zoals het hoort bij die kleur, met als correcte velg de 16 inch “Boost” wielen, zelfs als reservewiel.

Zoals je wellicht hebt kunnen opmaken uit de foto’s en video is deze gerestaureerde 110" letterlijk als nieuw, het chassis glimt nog schitterend zwart en de bodemplaat erboven glimt net zo mooi in het groen mee (het is haast zonde hem nu vies te maken).

De aandrijflijn is dus ook nieuw en kent geen lekkages bij bijvoorbeeld het differentieel of het motorblok. De buitenzijde is zoals de rest, nieuw. Doorgaans kan een Defender op leeftijd wel eens gekke oxidatie plekken krijgen op de punten waar delen aan elkaar gepopnageld zijn, met name boven de achterlichten, dat is bij deze Defender dus absoluut niet het geval, dit alles is nog in perfecte staat.

Het interieur past erg mooi bij de buitenzijde en is uiteraard in net zo’n mooie conditie, voorzien van het klassieke en typerende patroon “Techno Trim" in het stof, wat een knipoog is naar het traanplaat. 

Deze Land Rover Defender is destijds nieuw geleverd op 11/2003 door Land Rover/MG/Rover dealer L. Potache in Parijs,  in Frankrijk en kent ondertussen het Nederlandse kenteken S-659-VP. De restauratie is een ruim jaar geleden uitgevoerd.

De huidige en lage tellerstand is 128.004 kilometer.
