The Pioneer TX-7500 is a functional style stereo AM/FM tuner of the 80's. Rock-solid, very sensitive, and a wonderful vintage look with twin meters, multiplex noise filter and PLL stereo FM demodulator. The TX-7500's single-bandwidth IF stage consists of 3 ceramic filters and one gain stage. It's operationally perfect, and close to perfect cosmetically. Those of you who are knowledgeable about Pioneer's TX-series tuners know that they were VERY good performers. FM tuner development and design hasn't progressed much since this "golden age", in fact some of us think that tuner design took a backward step not long after this series, when digitally-synthesized tuners began to be produced. Much less expensive to build, most of us think that they don't sound as good as, for example, the TX-series.
