A nice Ming Dynasty blue & white glazed dish.

Large crack otherwise good glaze and intact.

The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) was a transformative era in Chinese history, marked by centralized rule, cultural achievements, and global engagement. Founded by Zhu Yuanzhang, it reinstated Confucian values, fostering stability and bureaucracy. Prosperity thrived through agricultural advancements and trade, yielding iconic Ming porcelain. Admiral Zheng He's maritime expeditions expanded Chinese influence. The dynasty oversaw the construction of the Forbidden City and the Great Wall's reinforcement. Ming literature flourished with classics like "Journey to the West." However, economic challenges, corruption, and the Manchu invasion led to its downfall, culminating in the establishment of the Qing Dynasty. The Ming Dynasty's legacy endures through its artistic, cultural, and historical contributions.
