Plaque ovale en émail peint polychrome avec rehauts d’or représentant Henri IV en buste tourné de trois-quarts vers la gauche, contre-émail en fondant ; inscription (H)ENRI•REX •IIII•. Montée dans un cadre en émail peint avec fleur de lys aux angles sur fond bleu nuit, contre-émail moucheté bleu. Cadre en bronze doré à décor de rinceaux fleuris et feuillagés.

Limoges, première moitié du XVIIe siècle

Provenance : Ancienne collection du Comte de X, marquis de Z ; puis par descendance familiale jusqu’aux actuels propriétaires

Bibliographie : cité dans la notice nécrologique sur le Comte de X, marquis de Z, pair de France, éditée en 1878 : « M. de X avait encore réuni de beaux émaux, dont un fort remarquable portrait de Henri IV, des sceaux du moyen âge et des époques modernes… »

L’expertise a été réalisée par le cabinet Fligny (Paris) lors d’une vente aux enchères survenue fin février 2023 à la maison de ventes SEQUANA de Rouen. Ces éléments peuvent être fournis à l’acquéreur.
