9 litho's, de meeste vooroorlogs en vooral van Ravi Varma Press. In zeer goede staat; nooit opgehangen geweest! 1 prent met duidelijke ouderdomssporen. Zeer lichte ouderdomssporen overall. De term oleografie slaat op de olierijke inkt die op de lithosteen gebruikt werd.
Raja Ravi Varma (1848-1906). Hij werd beroemd om zijn schilderijen en wereldberoemd om zijn lithografische prenten naar zijn schilderijen. Hij gebruikte Duitse druktechnologie en de hulp van Duitse technici voor zijn drukwerk. Hij introduceerde betaalbare populaire prints in heel India met de hoogste druktechniek van die tijd.
Voor hem bestonden afbeeldingen op papier niet in kleur en zijn posters werden en worden door heel India opgehangen en aanbeden. Slechts enkele posters hebben de tand des tijds doorstaan en nog minder zijn gevonden die nooit opgehangen zijn geweest.
Zeer kleine reserve; ideaal voor handelaren in authentieke Aziatica. Staat prachtig bij uw antieke voorwerpen in uw winkel!
