Offered here is a stunning limited-edition number 16 out of 50 lithograph of the late Hall of Fame Kobe Bryant by one of America’s hottest contemporary artists, Shepard Fairey and is signed by the artist and the late Los Angeles Laker legend. Known for his underground street art such as the “Obey Andre the Giant” sticker campaign, Fairey has applied his bold graphic style to Barak Obama’s famed “Hope” poster and his prints are in the collections of most of the world’s greatest art museums. Kobe Bryant won his lone NBA Most Valuable Player trophy in 2007-08, with the former Lower Merion High School superstar averaging an incredible 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game for the 57-25 Western Conference Champion Lakers. Bryant made the 10th of his 18 NBA All-Star appearances in 2007-08, solidifying a legacy that culminated in a posthumous induction to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020. As “The Black Mamba”, Bryant was one of the most popular and admired NBA players of his generation, averaging 25.0 points per game in his 20-season career and spawning a legion of lesser imitators across the basketball globe.
The lithograph, which draws inspiration from Fairey’s signature style, shows Bryant’s game face in shades of purple and yellow. Bryant’s iconic visage is presented above text reading “M-V-P” in yellow lettering. Both Bryant and Fairey have signed the lithograph, with Bryant inscribing “07-08 MVP” below his signature. The signatures have been written in silver marker. This item is a limited edition 21 of 50 lithograph and comes with a COA from Upper Deck Authenticated for the signatures.
