Personnage d'autel, culture Ewe, Ghana.

Captivant et intriguant personnage d’autel Vaudou. Ces statuettes étaient disposées dans des lieux de culte dédié aux esprits. Le personnage est assis sur un tabouret les avants bras tendu dans une position d’attente et d’observation. Ses mains sont exagérément grandes et attirent notre attention. Elles donnent une puissance spéciale à ce personnage. Les jambes et les avants bras sont articulés. Il y une cavité visible au niveau du ventre, elle est aussi accessible par dessous le personnage (voir photo). Elle servait soit à activer la statuette ou bien y placer des éléments magiques. L’ensemble de cette œuvre est raffiné, composé avec audace et maitrise. Superbe patine ancienne sèche. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique avec de la personnalité. Circa 1950.
