Marvelous ceramic turtle designed by Aldo Londi for Maioliche Artistiche Guido Bitossi factory, in excellent condition.

Founded in 1921, the factory had a dramatic evolution from the early 1950s, under the artistic direction of Aldo Londi. Londi joined Bitossi in 1946 and from then on was the undisputed protagonist of the production style for more than fifty years, first as a painter, then as art director and finally as a tireless experimenter. 

The iconic “Rimini Blue” series of different motifs engraved with astencil,
is enhanced by quick touches of colour that the decorator fixes under the blue and that, after firing, magically reproduce the play of light reflecting in the sea. 
It is no coincidence that the name chosen for this series is "Rimini blue", after the famous resort on the riviera Romagnola, that was much appreciated in the 1950s.
