Deze 4-tonige signaalhoorn is vroeger bij de Nederlandse spoorwegen gebruikt om te waarschuwen voor gevaar. Het heeft een mondstuk en een ventiel zoals bij een trompet, waardoor verschillende geluiden uit de 4 hoorns kan worden geblazen. Het geluid is zeer luid om goed hoorbaar te zijn.
De hoorn is van verchroomd messing. De lengte van de hoorn is 42 cm .
De conditie is goed, met een paar deukjes door het gebruik , de hoorn werkt , het ventiel is los.

Originele tweetonige signaalhoorn gemaakt door Martin Signal. De eerste steen voor de Duitse signaal instrument fabriek Max B. Martin GmbH & Co. KG werd gelegd in 1880 in Markneukirchen / Saksen. De fabriek vervaardigde toen al signaal hoorns, jacht hoorns, trompetten voor fanfares en cavalerie, voor twee of vier noten signalen. De hoorn is gemaakt van messing. Deze versie is vanuit de fabriek verchroomd.
