Biografia
Olivier Mourgue è nato nel 1939 a Parigi ed è noto per il suo design di mobili, ma è anche pittore e paesaggista.
Olivier Mourgue ha studiato design d'interni all'Ecole Boulle e design di mobili all'Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs di Parigi diplomandosi nel 1960. Inoltre, Olivier Mourgue si è formato dal 1958 al 1961 in Finlandia e anche in Svezia, dove ha lavorato per Maurice Holland, Nordiska Kompaniet a Stoccolma.
Olivier Mourgue ha lavorato con il produttore francese "Airborne International" (con sede a Montreuilsous-Bois, Francia) dal 1963. Presso Airborne, Olivier Mourgue ha progettato le sue famose sedie Classic Djinn (1965) rese famose da "2001: Odissea nello spazio" di Stanley Kubrick.
