Bark cloth (tapa) - popolo Baganda - Uganda.

La corteccia interna dell'albero Mutuba (Ficus natalensis) viene raccolta durante la stagione delle piogge e poi, in un processo lungo e faticoso, battuta con mazze di legno per darle una consistenza morbida e fine.
Il tessuto viene indossato principalmente durante le cerimonie, ma viene utilizzato anche per tende, biancheria e tappeti.
Ogni pezzo di stoffa di corteccia è unico per colore e consistenza. 
Questi sono cuciti a mano o rattoppati insieme utilizzando fibra di sisal, dando a ogni pezzo di stoffa di corteccia la sua unicità. Un grande pezzo di stoffa può essere largo fino a 2 metri per 4 metri, che è l'altezza dell'albero.
Nel 2005, l'UNESCO ha nominato il panno di corteccia ugandese un capolavoro del patrimonio dell'umanità, garantendone la protezione per il futuro. 

Questo tessuto è decorato a mano, con cuciture fatte con fibra di sisal, con figure e disegni caratteristici del popolo africano. 
Il tessuto, alquanto rigido in alcune parti, presenta qualche irregolarità e qualche strappo dovuti all'usura (vedere le foto).
