Een oorkan ontworpen en uitgevoerd door Chris van der Hoef begin 1900 bij Sieraardewerkfabriek De Kat te Bergen op Zoom. Deze fabriek, die grote invloed heeft gehad op de productie van sieraardewerkfabriek in Nederland, heeft maar kort bestaan. In 1902 gestart is er bijzonder aardewerk geproduceerd tot 1918, toen de fabriek werd verkocht.
Chris van der Hoef, bekend van zijn breed scala aan ontwerpen in o.a. keramiek, glas en messing, heeft korte tijd bij De Kat gewerkt. Na 1910 maakte hij lange tijd geen aardewerk meer.

De kan is in prachtige gave staat met een beetje een scheef tuitje. Goed gemerkt aan onderzijde. 
18 cm hoog.
