In the circle of George Stubbs ARA (1724-1806) 

Title : A large 18th century English a school portrait of a noble Lady wearing top hat with bow white collar, blue and tan velvet coat, gilt framed . 


Overall size including the frame 72.5 cm x 58 cm x 5 cm and the painting itself measuring 51 cm x 38 cm at sight . 

A lovely composition very close to the style and technical application of Stubbs who is probably best known for his paintings of horses . A very well listed artist Stubbs was also an accomplished portrait painter . The painting being offered is mostly certainly within the artists circle and is a highly decorative work of art . 

Condition report . In good general condition for it's age with an old re-lining . There is craquelure throughout the painting commensurate with its antiquity but the paint surface is stable and the canvas is in good tension.
