Medium Oil on  Artists Board 

Signed on the painting and ascribed to the verso - needs further research as we cannot clearly distinguish the signature . 

Dimensions :Overall including the frame dimensions are 33 cm x 27 cm x 5 cm and the painting itself measures 23 cm x 17 cm  .

A wonderful late 19th century oil on panel painting of a lady with her pet dog. the painting has lovely deep tones and a vibrancy about it. You can sense the closeness and affection between the lady who is dressed in fine attire and the small dog. A really lovely moment well caught and painted by the unidentified artist. There appears to be an indistinct signature or more likely attribution to the verso as well as the remainder of what appears to be a small gallery label. 


Condition report: Overall in fine condition for it's age. There are some tiny abrasions in a few places but the painting is in good condition given it's antiquity and in our opinion requires no intervention. The painting is housed within an attractive gilt frame which may be from the 1900's; but in any instance probably later than the artists board. The painting fits perfectly and the coeval frame compliments the art and is in good condition. It is offered as a gift with the painting as we cannot insure the frame for shipping ( only for loss ) but we will insure the painting. 


Please also note that due to post - Brexit conditions delivery time scales can be affected although we always aim to get paintings shipped within 3 days of the auction ending . To be fair though we are typically getting paintings delivered to most EU countries now quicker than before Brexit ! ( in most cases ) Once they have left us.
