Dési van Rhee

A pair of George III sterling silver candlesticks, each base of circular form with a gadrooned edge leading to a fluted section below a fluted knop, the tapering part-fluted column with a gadrooned edge terminating in a campana form half-fluted capital. Each with removable circular sconces with a gadrooned edge. Green velvet underneath the bases.

Made in Birmingham, 1802 (220 years old)

Each fully English silver hallmarked to the edge and to the sconces.

The dimensions of this fine pair of hand-made antique silver candlesticks are:
Length 30.6 cm
Wide at base 14 x 14 cm
Weight: 999 + 951 = 1950 gram (weighted) (Scones weight is 46 + 34 = 80 grams)

Condition: Very good condition, only some tiny pinprick indentations here and there. Could use a small silver polish. Inscription on both candlesticks of initials. One scone is larger then the other but not really noticeable. Hallmarks on the base slightly rubbed.
