De Leeuw van Luzern 

De leeuw van Luzern is een groot sculptuur in steen gehouwen. Het werd uitgevoerd door Deense beeldhouwer Bertel Thorvaldsen i. 1822 ter herdenking van de Zwitserse wachten die tijdens de Franse revolutie zijn omgekomen.


Dit handgesneden eiken model van de leeuw werd rond 1930 in Zwitserland gemaakt.

Conditie - Uitstekend met een mooie patina. 

De stervende leeuw is met een speer doorboord Zijn poot rust op een schild met de Fleur-de-lis van het Franse Koningshuis

( Aan de trouw en moed van de Zwitsers)
