A typical Macallan from the end of the "Paxarette" era, not very unique and rather one-dimensional.  I have tasted a lot of old Macallans, but this is average stuff max.  Bottled at a time when Macallan already had serious stock problems (as they reduced their production significantly during the whisky crisis of the eighties).  No wonder they had to bottle and sell these uninspiring casks instead of cherry-picking the best from a large stock.
