This Studebaker unit was registered in Spain in August 1928, being vehicle number 3003, which was registered in the province of Zaragoza. 

Unit preserved in exceptional condition, totally original both on the outside and inside, as can be seen in the photographs. It has been recently put into operation by a specialized workshop, but once the vehicle technical inspection has been renewed, it would be ready to use. It is a vehicle to be preserved as it is, not to be restored. 

During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) the car was boarded up in a fish market that was owned by one of the most important families dedicated 
to bullfighting in Spain.

Thanks to this fact, the vehicle could be preserved to this day without going through the hardships of the War. The car was purchased from the family of the original owners in the late 2010´s. At that time the engine was completely disassembled and with signs of wear due to the passage of time.

The new owner was in charge of reassembling its original mechanics together with the help of one of the greatest professionals in pre-war vehicles in Spain, the Pueche-Coupé company.

There the brakes were repaired, the exhaust line was rebuilt, the mechanical gasoline pump was rebuilt, new tires were installed, liquids and 
filters, electrical installation and the fuel tank was renewed. Finally, a new front grille was installed. 

In this way it was possible to pass the ITV (MOT) favourably in 2019.
Since then the car has been stored in a garage and has only travelled about 1,000 km until the Covid 19 pandemic arrived. Currently and due to lack of use the brakes do not work and will have to be serviced, but everything else is still in good working condition. 

This unit is preserved in a unique condition as it retains all its original elements with which it left the factory, with the exception of the rims, which are Spanish-made and were probably installed in the mid-1930s.

Obviously, after almost 100 years of life, it has that patina that provides it with a unique character, since it has not been restored. It has some peelings of paint. Under the wheel arches there are signs of superficial rust that are easy to remove. The brake light is always on and should be checked.

 The original upholstery shows some areas without velvet due to the passage of time. The lock key does not work, but the actuator in the ON position does.  The entire vehicle continues to work with 6 volts as originally. Some of the door handles have been replaced with new ones. It also retains the original rear window blinds.
