Oude handgesneden houten traditionele Balinese kalender gebaseerd op de Pawukon-cyclus. De Pawukon rituele kalender werd gebruikt om de gunstige dagen voor vruchtbaarheid te bepalen en daarnaast ook voor ceremoniële gebeurtenissen en horoscopen te identificeren. Komst oorspronkelijk uit Lombok maar deze werd gebruikt in Bali, Indonesië. Waanzinnig mooi patina van het oude hardhout hetgeen de oudheid van dit item goed weerspiegelt. Deze Pawukon kalender bevat geen letters, maar geometrische figuren zoals stippen, driehoeken, streepjes en cirkels die de verschillende gunstige dagen symboliseren. 

De Pawukon-kalender is een van de twee kalendersystemen die door de Balinezen worden gebruikt. Het bestaat uit 210 dagen in plaats van de gebruikelijke 365, en bestaat uit tien wekelijkse cycli die gelijktijdig plaatsvinden. Deze cyclus werd in de 14e eeuw naar Bali gebracht met de vluchtende hindoe-aanhanger van het ingestorte Majapahit-rijk. Elke wekelijkse cyclus bestaat uit een ander aantal dagen en wanneer de eerste of laatste dagen van verschillende cycli samenvallen, wordt dit als een speciale dag beschouwd. Op zulke speciale dagen is het gebruikelijk dat de Balinezen een huwelijksceremonie houden en/of aan een lange reis beginnen, zoals op de hadj gaan.
