Cup composed of 3 parts, destined to the Hogon The central part presents a crack due to the desiccation of the wood, as well as a small hole. 
The Hogon is the highest spiritual authority among the Dogon, an ethnic group in Mali. He is the representative of the Lebe cult, referring to the snake that guided the Mande until the Bandiagara Cliffs, where they have settled since. He intervenes in agricultural rites and in the settlement of various conflicts.
The Hogon is chosen among the eldest men of the village. After his election, he must follow six months of initiation, during which he is not allowed to shave or wash. He wears white clothes and no one is allowed to touch him. His meals are prepared by prepubescent girls and are served to him in specific dishes.
