In art nouveau, jewellery achieved great prominence due to their decorative forms and inspiration in nature. The two most important centres were Paris and Brussels. An art nouveau jewel is considered a decorative object, but it also has an additional meaning according to its shape and the atmosphere where it is worn, as if it were a mythical object. Its themes are women, nature and all its components, to the point that they confuse with each other: the woman-flower, the woman-dragonfly, the nereid, the mermaid... The lines are fluid and floral, the forms sinuous, it is the narration of a strange world, populated by fragile flowers and small insects and with a memory of the Middle Ages.
