Franco Vigorito

Founded in 1914 by Alfonso Balbo in Turin, the Balbo coachbuilder only achieved a certain notoriety after the Second World War when, with the collaboration of young designers such as Michelotti and Scaglione, it began a real stylistic pursuit that attracted many enthusiasts. 

One of the coachbuilder’s favourite chassis was the Fiat 6C 1500, which was affordable and popular with customers. But also Fiat 1100, 1400, Alfa Romeo 6C 2500, Lancia Aprilia, in saloon, coupé and cabriolet versions. 
Very fashionable at the time were the shapes inspired by American cars, an influence that can also be found in the design of many cars with Balbo bodyworks.

Probably a unique piece based on Fiat 1500 D Cabriolet, it was commissioned in 1948 to the Balbo coachbuilder by Baron Falchetti of Rome.
The car was originally in reddish purple colour.

Completely restored about 10 years ago and preserved with great care ever since.
Registered in the ASI historical register.

With documents and original number plate of Rome.
Red leather and fabric interior.
6 cylinders.
4-speed manual transmission.
Valid inspection.
