This is a excellent and also well designed bed cover, NOT crochet but knitted with 2 needles.
It had been obviously especially knitted as the length of 2m30 is unusual
and as you will notice from the photos there was a reason. 
In the late 19th and early 20th Century the French still used "bolsters" as a base. I have never quite understood the reason behind this, but the early fabric bedspreads always had a "gusset " at the top so during the daytime the bed looked very tailored with the rounding off. 
This bedspread has the same principle and we have used a extra pillow to create the same effect. Of course this also means that that the cover can be used horizontally, but than you will miss the scallops which will be at top and bottom instead at the sides.
The scallops are large which gives a extra dimension to the cover.
The squares are also large which again gives the cover a mature look.
I hesitated to put the cover under the heading CONDITION as "Good condition",  but changed it to "excellent condition" as I strongly believe it deserves this.it has had minimum wear.
It again came from the trousseaux of the farm in the Basque region from France and near Sare in the mountains and close to the Spanish border.
