This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers. His degree in archaeology from one of the best British universities and passion for Chinese art is reflected in this unique ancient vase.

An ancient Hu vase with Yue glaze (brownish green in colour) thinly applied over the first half, and with applied taoti and rope-like handles.

Height: 38 cm.

Condition:  Good overall when considering its ancient age and medium where it was found, the glaze displaying fine craquelure and ancient repairs shown as bumps along the shoulder; some glaze and clay degradation as expected from ancient earthenwares. NO breaks NO hairlines.
