Very beautiful and large solid bronze / copper porthole. From the vessel “Heen and Weer VIII”, which sailed between Rotterdam North and the famous sailor's ‘pleasure district’ in Rotterdam Katendrecht, during the period 1902-1963. See photos.


Diameter porthole is 25 cm. Height cap closure: 12 cm!

The porthole opens smoothly thanks to its sturdy construction. The 118 year old porthole is from the engine room, see oil filter in the porthole.


The Rotterdam municipal shipping company “Heen and Weer” was founded in 1901 and commenced sailing with three vessels on 1 July 1901, including the “Heen en Weer VIII”.
In 1977, my father bought up all the portholes from an employee of the shipyard.

This beautiful and sturdy porthole can once again be used in your boat/ship, but can also serve as a beautiful decorative eye-catcher in your living room/office/door or mancave. This solid, sturdy porthole is in superb authentic condition and will be a beautiful piece of maritime history in your home.
