Development of the J79 turbojet began in 1952 as the more powerful successor to the General Electric J47 turbojet.

The J79 was used in many high-speed aircraft, including some advanced fighters developed in the late 1950s.
The two most famous examples are the McDonnell Douglas F-4 and the Lockheed F-104, both capable of Mach 2 flying.

Today's auction is for a rare plating of a military plane. This original exhibit will give a dominant character to any loft-industrial interior.
