Maurice Stiassnie is an optician, builder of microscopes in Paris in the late 19th
 
century and the early 20th century. He succeeded Constant Verick in 1885 and his company

 was taken over by his sons in 1922. Under the name "Stiassnie Frères", the
 
company kept producing quality microscopes and peripherals for biologists until the 1950s.
