THE RMS Mauretania also known as Mauy, built for the British Cunard Line, was launched on 20 September 1906.
At the time, it was the largest and fastest ship in the world. The steam turbine propulsion was particularly remarkable, a revolutionary development in the design of this liner.
The Mauretanai was considered to be the most modern liner in the world in terms of luxury, speed and safety.
