Alvar Aalto is recognised worldwide as a pioneer of Finnish design. 
His designs ranged from architecture to glass and are characterised by asymmetrical, gently wavy shapes ('aalto' is Finnish for wave). 
Aalto's iconic design is inspired by the Finnish landscape of his youth and combines function and sculpture. 
The striking new Aalto mood light, inspired by the distinctive wavy shape, is a piece of Finnish design that fits into practically any interior.
