Very lovely compact / powder case, 800/1000 sterling silver, Florence, Italy, circa 1930
Silver hallmark, no silversmith’s mark.
A gold-plated copper medallion in the middle depicts a Romantic scene. 
Very nice carving work, with scrollwork and flourishes... on the front.
On the back, intertwined initials.
Lovely size: 
Height: 1 cm
Square box: 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm, not including the clasp system.
Perfectly functional, no dents of note. Slight wear to the gilding on the medallion, friction marks on the undecorated back. Light tarnishing on the inside. Polished gently.
