A beautiful Horn on a lion's paw. Decorated with beaded frame, acanthus and meander.

In Dutch, the Cornucopia (Latin; cornu (horn) and copia (stock) is called the Hoorn des overvloeds [Horn of Plenty]. This legendary object, which (as the name suggests) offered abundance, originally stems from Greek mythology.

According to myth, the Cornucopia is the horn of the goat Amalthea, that nursed Zeus on Crete. By way of thanks, Zeus put her in the sky as a constellation and her horn granted the holder of it everything he or she desired.
