Composition and style of the painting, it belongs to a group of North Renaissance-style paintings. It's archetypical painting is Rogier van der Weyden's Pietá. Based on the method of working on the copper plate, the paint and the pigment usage and the technique of painting, it was made at the end of the 15th century, or perhaps at the beginning of the 16th century.


The plate is 390 grams.

The paint layer is nicely cracked due to the age of the painting, but there are no bigger injuries on it. The painting has been cleaned by a restorer expert (paintings on copper plates do not need conservation, thanks to the old Dutch technique). 


The painting origins from the Netherlands, and then got to a private collection in Germany
